Interskate 61 presented by Signal Iduna is a skate infused festival in the midst of Mönchengladbach. Skateboarding at the heart with an astounding €5.000 prize purse, surrounded by live music, workshops, food, beverages, lots of partners and activities and not to forget a delightful after party. The first edition of the Urban Summer Festival #KABAMMM!, June 11 and 12 in Venlo, has been a great success. For two days, the Maasboulevard transformed into a large 'urban playground' with a variety of urban disciplines such as breakdance, BMX, skateboarding, freerunning and performances by urban artists. Important eye-catchers were three street art towers of 8 meters high and a large temporary skate & BMX park. The beautiful weather and the unique location, right in the center on the Maas, completed the picture. The event was very well attended and highly appreciated by both active participants and the general public, including many visitors from across the border. The festival was also the kick-off of the euregional collaboration 'Urban Connections' between urban organizations in Venlo and Monchengladbach. On Saturday 20 August, this will be continued with the Interskate 61 event in the Hego Höfe, an iconic post-industrial complex in Reidt. The festivals also serve as a platform for meeting and further cooperation between urban organizers and administrators of cities in the Euregion.
